MANDEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT:  The Mandeville Police Department offers another free service to citizens through "Report It", a safe and secure way for citizens to keep an inventory of their personal property in the event of loss or theft. The Mandeville Police Department is one of about 3,600 agencies nation wide who currently use "Leads on Line", a web based service used to search records of pawn shops and similar businesses who are mandatory reporters of their transactions to law enforce-ment. "Leads on Line" has launched "Report It", a free service for citizens which enable them to document their personal possessions by description, serial number and even store photos.

This database is accessible only by the account holder. Once an account is created and in the event of a loss or theft, the property owner can flag selected items as stolen and provide that list to law enforcement or their insurance company to assist in investigation and recovery of proper-ty. Those interested in this service can log onto leadsonline.com and follow the link to "Report It".

The Mandeville Police urges everyone to document their possessions as a proactive way to combat thefts and minimize the effects these type of crimes have both on the individual citizen as on the community as a whole.

Our Police Department just joined the Nixle Program which offers direct emails and text messages from the police to citizens regarding weather alerts, traffic and other police  activities.  Click here for more information.
