Municipal Employees' Civil Service Board

The Municipal Employees’ Civil Service Board consists of five members appointed by various apolitical sources (see table below) for four-year staggered terms. Board members are responsible for holding hearings on employee appeals regarding disciplinary action and other quasi-judicial duties that may be required under the rules developed pursuant to Article IV, Section 4-05 of the Mandeville Home Rule Charter, which is authorized by the Louisiana Constitution of 1974 Article VI, Section 5. The Board meets at its discretion, though usually on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 3101 East Causeway Approach in Mandeville, Louisiana.

 

Municipal Police Employees' Civil Service Board

The Municipal Police Civil Service Board consists of five members appointed by various apolitical sources (see table below) for four-year staggered terms. Board members are authorized pursuant to the Louisiana Revised Statutes Act 84-164 Section 4 and revised by Act 09-418. Their responsibilities include approving the classification and compensation plans, reviewing and acting upon all rules and regulation proposed for adoption, amendment, or repeal in accordance with Section 3 of Act 84-164/09-418, and holding hearings on employee appeals regarding disciplinary action. The Board meets at its discretion, though usually on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 3101 East Causeway Approach in Mandeville, Louisiana.
