Keep Mandeville Beautiful is looking for committed volunteers to participate in the Adopt-A-Spot program. This program is more than just an anti-litter campaign! It is a broad-based initiative by families, neighbors, businesses, schools and other groups. It’s a great activity for families and neighbors … it’s a way to teach citizenship and responsibility … it’s a tangible way for businesses and organization to show their commitment to this area … it’s a way to show visitors that we care about our city … it’s the kind of effort that truly builds and bonds a community.
How Do I Participate in Adopt-A-Spot?
Participation is easy. It is strictly a volunteer effort of time. No monetary donation is required. Just put together a group of people who are willing to clean a portion of a street or green space in Mandeville at least four times a year. Together with KMB, an area location and size is determined. You will receive a street sign giving your group recognition for their efforts. The great thing about this program is that is really is for people of all ages. Young children along with adult supervision are welcome to join in the efforts. This is a great volunteer project for families, youth groups, school groups as well as businesses. The best part is that the cleanups can be done any time or day throughout the year. You decide based on your schedule!
KMB will review all the required materials with your group’s coordinator. We’ll provide safety procedures, and all the cleanup materials you will need – bags, safety vests, and grabbers.
