City of Mandeville Tropical Storm Sally Preparations Update

We are now in full storm preparation mode;
Mayor Madden has executed an emergency declaration for the city this morning and is communicating with emergency management personnel and city department directors.

Public Works will be securing the lakefront, checking generators for city sewer lift stations and water wells, and cleaning out catch basins and ditches around the city. If you have a particular problem with clogged drains or ditches, please let us know so we can send someone out to address the issue.(Please do not blow leaves into open ditches as this will impede drainage.)

The city building inspector has begun notifying contractors to clean up construction sites in the city and port-o-potties will be removed tomorrow. Recycling is cancelled for this week.

Chief Sticker has the full police department on stand-by and barricades are being staged today ahead of the expected rain.

Mayor Madden will be attending and speaking at Parish President Cooper’s 1:30 p.m. press briefing today which will be live streamed on STPG-TV and on the Parish Facebook:
