It is the mission of the Human Resources Department to develop, implement and support programs and processes that add value to the City of Mandeville and its employees, leading to improved employee welfare, empowerment, growth and retention, while committed to the City of Mandevilleís key organizational drivers, its management and prosperity for its citizens and the employees.
The Human Resources Director provides policy direction on human resource management issues and administrative support to city departments including:
  • The City's job classification and compensation system:
  • Promotional and entry examinations;
  • Employee performance evaluations;
  • Training programs for city employees;
  • Drug testing;
  • Workers Compensation;
  • Wellness plans;
  • Benefits administration;
  • Personnel records; and
  • Provides guidance regarding the grievance system.

Louisiana Revised Statute 42:1170, requires all public employees complete one hour of training on the Code of Governmental Ethics each calendar year. Each City of Mandeville official, employee and board/commission member must complete the required ethics training each calendar year.

In the Louisiana Senate Concurrent Resolution 107 passed in 2012, the Louisiana Senate resolved that all state agencies should provide one hour of sexual harassment training to each public employee and official each calendar year. Each City of Mandeville employee and official must complete the statutorily mandated sexual harassment training each calendar year.
